4G MOBILE PHONES

Smartphones are definitely the hot trend right now, and one such mobile device that is on everyone’s lips is the 4G mobile phone. A 4G mobile phone is essentially a new generation of mobile device that offers an enhanced feature set, better processing, clearer call quality, and all around better performance than its 3G brethren.

So who has the best 4G Mobile Phone?

Apple has delivered on its second generation 4G iPhone released in early 2011. It is available on both AT&T and Verizon’s wireless network.

Sprints release of it’s HTC EVO, the first widely available 4G mobile phone, has been a huge success. And Google’s Nexus One keeps on improving with their release of the Nexus S. The first ever 4G mobile phone billed as a major rival for the iPhone and Google Nexus One has been unveiled at a trade show in the U.S.

The HTC Evo 4G, also on the Sprint network, features a 4.3-inch LCD screen, 30 per cent bigger than the iPhone, an eight megapixel camera with flash and up to 33 gigabytes of memory. One of the new phones features means it can act as an internet ‘hub’ for up to eight devices at the same time.

AT&T also has the Motorola Atrix 4, a high-end powerhouse with a 1 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor, 4-inch qHD display, front and rear-facing cameras, Android 2.2, and a bunch of accessories like a laptop dock and wireless keyboard.

AT&T also has the HTC Inspire with a 1 GHz next-generation Snapdragon processor, 4.3-inch display, an 8-megapixel camera, and Android 2.2. The unibody construction is beautiful and the price point is lower ($99.99), but it’s missing the dual-core processor and battery life isn’t the greatest.

Verizon Wireless already has launched three 4G-capable smartphones – the Droid Charge by Samsung, the ThunderBolt by HTC and the Revolution by LG. The Motorola Xoom tablet can be upgraded to 4G LTE later this year.

By the end of 2013, Verizon Wireless plans to deliver 4G LTE to its entire 3G wireless footprint
